4 Stars for Rita from Kim Anisi for Reader's Favorite: R.C. Miller's writing is fantastic when he goes into details. He writes in a very engaging way and you feel drawn into the story. The Horseless Horsemen is a book I would recommend to people who like horror and fantasy, but do not want the horror to be too gory. It's a good, entertaining read that doesn't scare you too much, unless you have a very faint heart. ------- "I KILLED YOU!" he shouted, after he had hit the ground and got his wind back. …after he had gotten a small amount of his wits back about him and stared at her wide eyed, his voice full of the unbelieving panic that the killers always had when they finally realized the mistake they had made. "YOU'RE DEAD!!" "I'm Rita," she said without emotion, and not at all directly addressing his accusation the way he would have expected if his shattered mind hadn't already been well along in the process of falling over the edge and into the pit of his panic. "And you've been served," she informed him. Then she added softly as his eyes cleared with comprehension for just a moment, "Don't worry. I'm not the last thing you will see. Oh, no," her eyes widened and her stare grew very intense as she moved closer to his face, driving the point home more thoroughly than a stake through his heart, "…that will be far worse than me." She nodded slowly. "…far worse." She reached toward his chest and he realized that he was just, quite literally, about to meet his maker.
