The Heart of God

Alarion Aravon has spent the last year facing down ambitious mortals, fanatical tribes bent on making him their unwilling Messiah, and the very gods themselves--and won. Now he's enjoying a peaceful respite at home, blissfully unaware that Fate and Death and the trickster Thousandth God are not yet done with him. All he has to do at the moment is find his brother, the King, a wife. How hard can that be? 

Alas, he quickly discovers that battling Death was easy compared to keeping the candidates focused on the King instead of him. A comedy of misunderstandings slowly turns to deadly danger. Hampered by his own lack of experience with the fair sex, he must summon all of his considerable skill at diplomacy--and sheer willpower--to keep House Aravon out of an epic scandal, and everyone concerned alive. Because one of those girls will, literally, kill to be Queen.
