The Heart of Freedom

Zoey Lewis hasn't seen her father in two years. Not since he left her to fend for herself in a broken, war-torn country with few of the freedoms and comforts of her childhood.  With no other living family, Zoey sets out to find her father outside the border of the only home she's ever known. But leaving makes her vulnerable to the rebels who have been exiled into the ash-covered west.  Zoey doesn't get far before her bus is hijacked and her journey sidetracked. Kidnapped, she is forced to travel with a group of rebels. If she's caught with them, she'll be branded a traitor and either exiled or killed, but once she meets Cole she's no longer sure she cares.  Can Zoey find her father and keep the man she loves safe from a fascist government intent on destroying the last remnants of America? Or will she be forced to watch everyone she's come to love, die?
