In 1944, The Good St. Elias, a massive Navy zeppelin en route to its home part, underwent a mutiny led by its Executive Officer and crashed into Mt. Ys at the height of the worst blizzard in a generation. Lost for generations, it became a legend to the inhabitants of Ysbergstad, who puzzled over the tragedy for years. Why had Lieutenant Samuel Richmond killed the command crew and seized control of the ship? What did he hope to accomplish that night? Who was he running from? Where was he trying to go? The mystery seemed insoluble, with no survivors amongst the crew and the crash site hidden by the snowfall of decades...
