The royal palace of Eutracia lies in ruins, and Prince Tristan--forced by the Sorceresses of Coven to murder his own parents--is a wanted man. In a cavernous underground labyrinth, Tristan has taken refuge with his sister, Shailiha, her infant daughter, and the wizards Wigg and Faegan. But darker events have begun to unfold, and a malevolent being seeks to raise the Gates of Dawn and bring down the forces of evil to rule the world. With time running out and their powers dwindling, Wigg and Faegan desperately seek to discover who, or what, is the source of such insidious magic.
