Opal Peabody makes a comfortable living reading tarot cards and performing seances to contact spirits of the deceased in the small town of Calathia, Kansas. But, her life is turned upside down on the night that Virginia Blake asks her to contact her dead husband. A dark spirit manifests instead. Over a hundred years back, this suave Italian immigrant was the gardener for Virginia's ancestor, who first built her Victorian house. He was also a murderer. Now that he has been brought back, his ambition is revived as well as his body. After Virginia's lifeless body is found by the nearby river, her granddaughter, Georgia, an art gallery owner from New York City inherits the house. She is fair game for this handsome spirit who gains strength with every murder and has perfected the art of seduction. Can Opal find a way to end the ghost's killing spree and banish him for good?
