Welcome to the future, where androids rule the earth and humans are a dying breed. With the world's birth rates in decline, high school student Kotaro Shiga was placed in a state of suspended animation, under the pretext that he would be awakened when the problem was solved and the earth could be repopulated. But one hundred years later, he comes out of his long sleep to find himself alone in a virtual wasteland. At first, he doesn't realize that the few seemingly human people around him are in fact androids. The androids have experienced a major consciousness shift during his sleep; they believe they created humans - because none of their memories stretch beyond 22 years! How will Kotaro survive and is there any chance that he can help the human race to rise again and reclaim mastery of the world?
