About This Book

In 1311, a Templar knight is burnt at the stake. A great secret dies with him.

The present day. An unusual document is found in a vatican archive and the search is on for holy relics; part of the True Cross and a lost gospel. The trail leads to Portugal, the last refuge of the Templars, and the family of the local priest in Carvoeiro, Father Afonso.

The Vatican has waited seven hundred years and is prepared to do anything to get its hands on it. The Order of Christ wants it back. The Carvalho family has guarded it for centuries and want to keep it but only one of the parties knows what the Eye is and is prepared to kill to get it. Father Afonso’s allegiance is torn between family and Church, his vocation and earthly love; love for a pretty librarian, Micaela.

Set against a backdrop of the Algarve, the Eye of Sayf-Udeen combines intellectual treasure hunt with caper as the conflicting parties struggle with varying degrees of competence and luck for ownership in a story that is historically engaging, exciting and humorous.
