About This Book

Things are not always what they seem and Connor Adams can certainly attest to that. Ever since she woke up in Rickmansworth Academy and Temple, located somewhere in the Forest of Dean near Gloucester, England, she has been face-palming, groaning, and dearly wishing that her life would quit resembling a really bad fantasy novel. Not only has she learned that she is the only child of Maida Vale Kedgeree, the deceased queen of Britain's Wylde Woode Kyngdom, but that she is a half-human, half-British Woode Folk hybrid (or Brood, for short). If that was not enough, she must also set out on a quest to retrieve the Five Throne Thingies before her tyrannical cousin, Lancaster, can find them and claim the throne for himself. Travelling with her are the English Legione, a band of Woode Folk which include her best friend Jeremy Doyle; Jeremy's girlfriend; a blonde Brood sorcerer; a very maternal healer; a rarely-sober wizard; a cat-like creature obsessed with food; a leprechaun with a pornography addiction; a wood nymph; and a gay couple consisting of a faery and a satyr. These loyal companions have sworn to assist and guide her through Britain's woodlands, searching magnificent places such as the Awkward Mountains, Fantastic Fjords, and the Cave of Lost Socks in order to find the Five Throne Thingies, which will give her the power to defeat Lancaster. Where will their travels take them first? Will Connor come up with a better name for the objects? And what exactly caused the rift between Kenton and his sister?
