Given a few months to live, at thirteen, Sarah Douglas would have given anything to be cured of the leukemia that had dominated her childhood. When her dreams are answered, she is overjoyed...until her body begins to change and she discovers that the cure wasn't all that she had dreamed. Befriended by Honda, a creature that could kill her with a single swipe of its' claws, Sarah quickly finds herself trapped in the middle of a bloody clash between a colony of gargoyle like creatures and an army of deadly mercenaries led by the doctor that cured her.
