The Cut Bait Murders

The Cut Bait Murders is the second in the fishing-themed Jim Story series of St. James City mysteries. A retired couple's life in the quaint Florida fishing village is disturbed by a series of unexplained disappearances. Then the island's tranquility is shattered when two tarpon fishermen reel in a mutilated corpse- an obvious victim of murder. The police suspect the crime is linked to a recently uncovered drug ring, but the island's residents are not convinced. When another beloved island resident disappears a colorful cast of tropical characters decide to take matters into their own hands, leading to an exciting conclusion involving bull sharks, alligators, manatees, and, of course, a gorilla!
