Haunted by the silence and strange, pulsing energies within the mountain, Kael discovers a hidden door marked with a cryptic spider symbol and eventually stumbles upon a crystal shard tangled in a web of shimmering threads. When he touches it, the shard awakens, triggering a trembling of the earth and an ominous presence rising in the darkness. Fleeing with the relic in hand, Kael barely escapes the mountain's grasp.

At dawn, exhausted and shaken, Kael returns to the surface and makes his way to Hollowbarrow, clutching the crystal that now pulses with life and whispers to him in a forgotten tongue. The artifact seems sentient-older than the ruins, older than the Guild, perhaps even older than the mountain itself. Drawn by instinct and something deeper, Kael presents the shard to the town's Elders, placing it on the stone table without a word.
