The Coffin Quest

I was perfectly happy to exist as a Detective First, sweeping up the detritus and the flotsam of the underbelly of Denver. True, I drank too much, hated everybody, almost, but I was a damned good cop on the job. In the snow and ice bound mile high city, I found a murder that did not exist. Then another. I could not understand it, and i tried. My partner tried. The FBI showed up and things became much clearer... and more frightening. It has taken me to places I have never considered. It has taught me things I should have learned at my mother's knee. It sent me on a trip so close to hell that I could feel the heat. It has scared me straight, even, thankfully, made me a woman, again. I survived. I loved… and I sobered up. Ally Whitedove.
