The Case of the Headless Heir

XYZ Investigations takes on a murder case involving the husband of a hippie restaurant owner. The dead man turns out to be George McDowell, a popular Florida mystery writer who often hosted meetings of Miami's only Cryptogram Club. The only clues are two mysterious and bloody scraps of paper found on the scene, but of course Xande's most important clues are always locked up somewhere in her brain-and under all those blonde dreadlocks. This is the third long story of the XYZ Mysteries, a linked series of adventures that follow the careers of Xande, Yolande, and Zoe Calhoun in 1974 Miami, Florida. Before Miami Vice, before the end of the Vietnam War, and before computers linked the globe.
