The Case Files of DAN TURNER HOLLYWOOD DETECTIVE Volume 3

A creation of Robert Leslie Bellem, Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective appeared in hundreds of stories from 1934 to 1950 in the pulp magazines of the Culture and Trojan lines. Spicy Detective was his birthplace, but he appeared in Speed Detective, Private Detective Stories, Hollywood Detective, and his own magazine, Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective. The Dan Turner stories ran through three distinct phases: the spicy phase, the middle, less spicy phase, and the tamer phase. The breadth of these story types has not been explored fully before until the publication of this three volume series. Volume 3 deals with the final period, from the end of 1943 to 1950. The Dan Turner stories now have less sexual content and more comedy, but still contain the same type of detective story. Each story also features the original artwork which graced the pages of the pulp magazines upon their first appearance.
