Syeira is an orphaned girl with a special connection to horses—especially to Arwin, a beautiful and willful mare who lives in the king's stables where Syeira works. When an evil ruler kidnaps Arwin's two colts, Syeira and Arwin set off on a dangerous quest to rescue the young horses.

Their journey carries them through enchanted forests and into mysterious villages. Along the way, the brave girl and horse cross paths with a host of characters who can help—or harm—them. Only if Syeira and Arwin trust in each other can they ultimately find the courage to ride to freedom.
