The Blind Race Car Driver

This is a story about overcoming a deeply embarrassing trauma and using it as fuel for success. The main character is a Race Car Driver who was born blind in a poor neighborhood of Anfield, England. For reasons no one could ascertain, he was the eighth child born with birth defects to a gypsy and carnival owner. A renowned psychic had foretold that he would be the first child born healthy, so his blindness sent shockwaves throughout England. He was sent away and raised by an ornery mad scientist. A combination of insanity and good science resulted in him being cured of his blindness. He then went on to be a highly successful race car driver.
