The Awakening

Veronica spent 10 years in an unhealthy marriage before finally getting enough courage to walk away. Her self-worth had been effectively destroyed over the years and she needed to find a way to learn to love herself again, or maybe for the first time. Learning to successfully navigate the anxiety attacks brought on by her abuse while trying to appear strong and fixed for her kids proves to be more difficult than she had hoped. Whether it is the rebreaking of old wounds or the realization of exactly how much abuse and toxicity she endured in her marriage, she is learning exactly how painful the process of healing from trauma can be. When someone comes along and seems to be tailor made for her, she is skeptical and tries to keep her eyes open and her heart closed until she deems herself healed enough to be worthy of love.
