Tayo Tersoo, a man pure of heart, dedicated, and very focused, was asked by Lin Finity to combat an entity that she and Gloriana had trapped and brought back from the Godless spaces between the Islands of Time. They call it a Hunter because it hunts souls in those empty spaces, bringing death to the living and chaos to everything else.
What Tayo did not know when he accepted Lin's task was that the entity, the Hunter of Souls, would invade him physically and from there, launch horrific attacks on him and those around him. Is his heart pure enough? How dedicated is he? If he loses his focus and can't keep the Hunter contained, it will roam the Earth, slaughtering wholesale.
