In the Heian-Kyo era of Japan, women lived with their parents even after marriage. So when Asuka's husband accepts a position in the far off capital city of Heian-Kyo, she fears he will forget her and never return. But she is not helpless. Before she had married she had entertained a suitor with a strange reputation. She knows she can call on him again, and that he can help her in ways no one else can. Although even she is not sure if the rumors that he is half-kitsune are true. Asking such a one for a favor might end up being more than she bargained for, but can she face the alternative?
