The ladies of Redbird City are connecting in strange and wonderful ways. Hannah and Neekil are getting ready for a housewarming, while Jennel and Jennor are getting ready for a royal wedding with Day-ek and Reymark cheering them on.

With Jennel's firebombed home a mess, Hannah looks for some contractors who can help fix it so she can put it back on the market. A specialist in stud and roof repair is suggested, so she gives the woman a call.

A dark fae, Isocar has a special bond with nature, and she can also create pressure-treated lumber with the flick of her fingers. She has just lost the last person on the planet who cared for her, so she is deciding what to do with her life. A car accident makes her mind up for her when her sister picks her up and flies her to safety.

Two dark fae in the city is statistically unlikely, but this is Redbird City, and anything can happen.
