Everyone in Windfall Dome is frantically preparing for the coming Trade Fair, and Dome pride demands that everything go without a hitch. The caravans from the other domes are en route and expected any day so everyone must do their part, including the Packs. But tragedy strikes on a foray outside the dome and Cheobawn must find the source of the insanity now plaguing all the animals of the forest. She soon discovers that a Hunter with no name or face is stalking the dome and everyone in it. There is just one problem. No one will listen to her nor believe her when she tells them what they must do.
