Spencer West defies his father, Jayden, Vice President of Aerocom, a major Pentagon contractor, to become a detective with the Dallas Police Department instead of a computer engineer. A drive-by shooting results in a serious head wound that changes his life forever.
He wakes up from a coma five days later with a limp and eyes that can't tolerate bright light. He is no longer the macho Magnum PI stereotype detective he once was. The upside is, the head wound that almost kills him gives him the rare paranormal capability of remote viewing. Frustrated by his reassignment to a desk job when he returns to duty, Spencer quits the Dallas Police force.
Taking advantage of Spencer's unemployment and new capability, Jayden hires him to develop the first intelligence-gathering system using remote viewing under a contract for the CIA. Spencer's life becomes a nightmare when he gets involved with a beautiful, deep cover, Russian spy; becomes entangled with competing federal agencies; and is at odds with his father. Harper, his former detective partner, becomes involved in Spencer's self-inflicted triangle, trying to resolve the complicated web he's caught up in.
