Song of Sorcery

Returning from Scartel to safety, Daro and Jalni are shaken by the death of a child. As Daro questions his faith in magic, Jalni decides that if he can face the past of a world, she can face her own, and slips away unseen. En route to Jerritol, followed by an old friend, she encounters Orto and decides to help him find the Tapestry of Tten. At the temple of the Winds there's no trace of the relic, but the Oracle predicts, Jalni will become, "Mother of the Tenth Wind." Jalni goes into retreat, but when the Sorceress Tirjella is poisoned, she usurps Sandsinger powers and saves her. Returning to Selesh, Jalni can predict Ikella's reaction, but Daro's she couldn't have forseen in a thousand rotations Emphathise with Jalni's struggle to control her own destiny.
