Government conspiracy? Mary Clark isn't quite sure. the more she learns about a senior health survey, and the POMU implant in her ear, the more she realizes something is wrong. Vera, a woman with the same implant, speaks out against the POMU, but dies while having minor surgery. An office clerk checking records at the same clinic goes missing. Leaving Mary with more questions than answers. The benefit of extra money for participation is becoming less of a Godsend and more frightening. Mary meets Alex, a local veterinarian, and also an implant recipient and together, they begin digging into the matter. When they realize their life is in danger, they take drastic steps to warn the world. Falling in love, Alex and Mary race to evade government agents, and the death sentence hanging over them. Can they escape, or will they be the next victims of the "Soft Kill?"
