She found it in a garage sale. The size of a large oval grapefruit, it had a long curving handle, a small lid, and a delicate chain. Seven-year-old Ellen was sure it was Aladdin's lamp and even though it cost a whole week's allowance, she was thrilled with her shiny new treasure.

Then the terrible things began to happen. Horrible, unexplainable things. They said she was a bad seed, a child killer, an evil monster. But Ellen hadn't done anything. Except rub her magic lamp to make the genie come out of it...
