Karen is an average high school student, with an archenemy from childhood and a best friend to geek out with over anime and books. You know, the usual.At first glance. She's also a witch. When her favorite novelist comes to town, Karen can't help but wonder what the famous Yuki has to do with the Magicwielders' Society. This is a short story for Smoke and Jewel, a Fantasy Romance novel set in 16th-century Japan (time travel involved!), introducing one of the main characters, Karen Lewister. These short stories can be read in any order, before, or after reading the corresponding books in the main series.
