Kirk was an orphan street punk destined for prison--or worse. Until he crossed a vicious drug lord and found himself on the wrong side of the line between life and death.

Here in the Afterlife, all Kirk's sins come alive in the bizarre alter ego known as "Mr. Demon," who torments him with unimaginable terrors. But even Demons have their demons -- and when Kirk hooks up with an ancient spirit in the form of a little, girl, he finds the courage to reach back toward life and try to help the infant son he left behind.

Meanwhile, another ghost is stalking him through the Shadowlands. Kirk's own father, a Ranger killed in Vietnam, is seeking him. To fulfill a promise, or complete an ancient curse.
