She Died Anyway

Short story, thriller, horror. Nick Jones and his girlfriend Barbara Land went to the bub the Thirsty Monkey, and while they sat and had some beer and champagne Nick had to visit the john. While he did, a drug pusher, Bruce, that had sold some pain pills to Barbara came to the table. And before Nick had a chance to come back this Bruce had put half a pill into Nick's beer. This set a huge police hunt in motion, and it unfortunately became worse and included FBI, the Swat team and all the local police force.
