Claire's efforts prevented the city from tumbling like an inverted Atlantis, but there's a much bigger world out there. Drawn into a web of intrigue and lies, Claire and company find themselves drawn toward the Vampire Bastions by an old friend. Once there, they find out that it's not just a new town but a new world, and a strange one at that. This world has got some bite to it! While helping to keep the peace, Claire also has to do everything she can to avoid being put on the menu. But vampire politics is slippery stuff, and everything in this broken world of monsters and men is shrouded in shadows and secrecy.
