It began with a set-up. Los Angeles private investigator Delilah West goes undercover in the county supervisor's office to smoke out the employee siphoning funds. Guilty party nailed. Case closed.

That is, until the woman Delilah fingered is murdered and Delilah's new client--an Orange County councilwoman--is the prime suspect. Worse, Delilah lied to protect her client. The only way to save both their skins is to flush out the real killer.

Greed, lust and murder she can handle. But somebody has made the mistake of using Delilah to do their dirty work. And Delilah really hates when that happens.
