Semele

Few of us notice that gods and goddesses still walk among us. Semele knows for sure. Her parents warned her about the dangers of dating an Olympian. Blinded by celebrity and godhead, a distant ancestor was burned to a crisp when she questioned the big guy's pajamas-"is that a thunder bolt in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?"The beautiful young girl is unsuccessful as she tries to disappear into the crowd. Rich and powerful men desire her. They put her on a pedestal and then on the stage, treat her with kidskin gloves before kidnapping her. Lucky for Semele, there is a mere mortal who loves her enough to follow her half-way around the world before she's either singed by love, toasted by a lover or barbecued by the volcano that is about to pop its cork.
