Everyone has secrets, including Shelly Anderson's vampire boyfriend, Eddie Van Helsing. When Shelly accepts a temporary job as a librarian at the Urbana College of Magic, an Ivy League school for wizards and enchantresses, Eddie doesn't want her to go. When she asks him why he refuses to give her any information and purposely blocks her mind-reading attempts. At the college, Shelly discovers a strange connection to Eddie's past and a forty-year-old murder. She must solve this mystery on her own with a ghost who refuses to talk to her, a creepy professor with a shady past, and a quirky roommate with a tendency to snoop.
