Lacie Blade knows she's hardly mother of the year. After her release from prison on a bad rap, all she wants is to return home to hug her beloved son Winchester. But when she discovers he's been expelled from school for fighting kids who tease him about his mom being a "con", Lacie decides there's only one thing to do: convince the handsome principal to take Winchester back by becoming president of the PTA and fundraising more money than the school has ever seen. But this isn't just any PTA--it's Gangsta PTA. Lacie knows all about the skeletons in people's closets and at the bottom of Bender Lake, and with a little magical help from her fortune-teller friend Granny Tinker, she uses every trick in the book to secure funds for the textbooks and computers the school desperately needs. Soon, the jaded principal discovers that Lacie has a secret heart up her sleeve far bigger than her rap sheet, and she just might be the best thing that ever happened to him, and to Bender Lake Elementary, after all.
