The Empress, Veranna of Emeraldia, has led her people through wars and suffered great pain to fulfill her duties before her Creator. The Empire is strong, but the frailties of human nature haunt her life in ways that she cannot foresee. Actions in the past unfold into the present, bringing harsh consequences. The evils of the world gain control leaving Veranna on display in a way that crushes the hearts of many. Once the symbol of high thought and deed, she is reduced to the savagery that initiated her demise.
