Sand Creek

A down-on-his-luck Colorado sheriff's deputy, Johnny Hart spends most days tracking cattle rustlers and nursing hangovers. But when his old rodeo buddy, Char Sixkiller, appears at his door, Johnny's downward spiral takes a backseat to helping a friend accused of murder. White women with blond hair are being savagely mutilated and dumped at historical Native-American massacre sites. His buddy is the FBI's prime suspect.

The killer knows his history--and plots his victims' burial sites accordingly. Problem is, Sand Creek is a land soaked with Native blood, right up here in Johnny's territory, and Sixkiller's timely arrival at his doorstep is not helping matters any. But Johnny has this one chance to make a lot of wrong things right--even if it means stalking a killer the old-fashioned way: with grit, determination and a well-aimed gun.
