(Set before the events of POMPEII: A TALE OF MURDER IN ANCIENT ROME) Are the gods just having a bit of fun with Marcellus or is he doomed to ill-adventure? A missing bronze bust; the appearance of a mysterious aunt and the death of an augur are just the beginning for Marcellus. After witnessing the death of Nero's step-brother, Marcellus is off to Alexandria. With a wink and a smile, the Gods of Rome hand him over to the Deities of Egypt. The Pyramids, The Great Sphinx and Hatshepsut's tomb await Marcellus along with a widow, a dead priest and a companion who will change the course of his life.
