About This Book

When Ruth and Roger Mallard inherit a large house but with no money to keep it up, they decide to turn it into a superior guest-house. The first week's guests were specially chosen -- or self-invited. With them comes an element of discord in the person of Roger's brother Paul, who casts an uneasy shadow over the forthcoming engagement between Felicity and her theatrical producer. The well-meaning interference of other guests does not help matters. But by the time the first guests have left several matters have worked out to the entire satisfaction of the Mallard family.
