About This Book

Lefty is a black leather lefthanded winter glove. I usLefty is a black leather left-handed winter glove. His pals are his mirror twin Righty, and a snake shaped cane named Snake. Lefty has just returned from a vacation in the Land of Oz. Righty and Snake were jealous of Lefty since they hadn't gotten to go with Lefty on his vacation. They want Lefty to tell them how they can get to visit Oz. With some difficulty, Lefty recalls how he got to Oz. Righty and Snake tried to do as Lefty suggested. Nothing happened. Finally Lefty, Snake, and Righty try to do it together. It works. They end up in the Borrowing Shop of Oz, in Holeville, in Gillikin Country of Oz. Once in the Land of Oz, Snake and Righty want to run off and do their own thing. Lefty tells them they will have more fun if they just follow the rules. Righty and Snake agree to try following the rules. The Constable for Holeville comes over to keep an eye on Lefty. Within a few minutes they are borrowed by Maria and Jessie. Lefty knew them from his first trip to Oz. Maria and Jessie are traveling with their parents to visit Gayelette at her Ruby Palace. The Constable traveled with them. The group stopped and toured Walking Stick Lane. This was a great treat for all of them and especially for Snake. They stop for lunch. After lunch some Kalidahs attack them. Snake, the Constable, and John save the group from the Kalidahs. They stay overnight at a farm house. They don't reach Gayelette's until late the second day. What does Gayelette think of Righty, Lefty, and Snake? Will they get Lefty, Righty, and Snake back to the Borrowing Shop in time? Read the story to find out.
