In the 11 years since Randy McKay was kidnapped and tortured, he has made a good life for himself. He, his wife Michelle, and their four children live on a ranch in northern New Mexico. Although Randy previously worked as a firefighter and arson investigator, he comes from generations of newspaper publishers. His father has given him control of The New Mexico Sentinel. He sometimes writes investigative stories for his paper and has authored his memoir and a book on early explorers. For the past decade, Randy has had bodyguards. He doesn't think he needs them, but his parents insist on it. A new bodyguard, Darius Turner, recently joined the team.
