Reprisal

A serial killer is on the loose in Hamilton. His victims are manipulative, callous career women who have tread over the backs of others on the way to the pinnacle of their success. The killer is on a mission to exact revenge upon these women for all their cruelties. Inner voices prey on his fragile psyche, and drive him to fulfill this purpose.

It falls to Detective Sergeant Timothy Earley to catch the murderer before he kills again. He soon discovers that each victim has accrued a horrific legacy—a trail of broken marriages, stunted relationships, and abandoned children left in the wake of their unscrupulous ways. The plot becomes further complicated when it seems that all the murders cannot be the work of the same person. Detective Earley struggles to control being led by his preconceptions and prejudices during the investigation.

Detective Earley's personal journey forces him to come to terms with his beliefs about the sanctity of life. The case compels him to re-evaluate his definition of a monster.
