But men like Brodie are hard to defeat, and he will do everything in his power to stop Miriam and Sparrow. Who will triumph in this battle to breathe?

Reviews

"Dystopia probably shouldn't be this refreshing … This cracking story is as invigorating as the fresh air that is in such short supply in its post-apocalyptic version of a soupy, sulphurous Edinburgh … a thought-provoking thriller with plenty of points to unpack around power, poverty and big tech's stranglehold over our lives … A gulp of fresh air." – The Times, Children's Book of the Week

"This dystopian thriller … is stripped back to the bare bones of the plot and is all the better for it; this is an unforgettable, pulsating thriller that readers will inhale." – The Bookseller, Editor's Choice

"Super-cool dystopian thriller … Great world-building, brilliant characters, awesome action, cool gadgets, and a timely message all in super-readable fast-paced format." – Dan Smith

"Fast-paced, thrilling and scarily real in its concept of mass-selling clean air (we already buy bottled water!). The book is so good it leaves you gasping for more!" – Chris Bradford

"A compellingly deft and (literally) light on its feet dystopian thriller for Barrington Stoke that packs more story and ideas into its 132 pages than seems humanly possible." – Piers Torday

"Fun, pacy and packed with action while incorporating some great commentary on corporations and environmentalism." – Darren Simpson

"An absolute masterclass in how to write a super-readable title that everyone will enjoy. Fast-paced, engaging and a nuanced exploration of socio-political-environmental topics. And the cover illustration is just stunning. Superb all round!" – Marianne Doherty, Scottish BookTrust

"A high-octane, twisty sci-fi thriller, Reek is a thoroughly entertaining read. Will you be able to guess how it all ends?" – Check 'Em Out Books
