About This Book

Jon's at it again. Jon, a handsome, laid-back country attorney, and his wife Sandy, receive a call from Jon's brother Dean, a Texas state judge in nearby Victoria, telling them that he has been arrested for murdering Betts, his wife. The crime scene suggests a botched home burglary, but the only fingerprints on the murder weapon are Dean's. Matters are not helped by the fact that the police had been called out in response to Betts's claim that Dean was trying to kill her. Jon reluctantly comes to his brother's aid. Meanwhile, a local high school football team, led by all-state running back Chris "Coyote" Costiss, wins its way to the State championship, only to lose Costiss to a broken leg right before the big game. If murder has arrived in Jon's life, can mayhem be far behind? Mayhem, alleged and real, keeps the championship title up in the air and players in jail. Jon's previous distraction now becomes another criminal case—this one to save Chris's future. This is the fourth Dee Wilbur mystery set in Richmond, Texas.
