Protege

Some people live outside of the reach of the law. Some have had their day in court and prevailed. Others commit their crimes without remorse, arrogantly feeling that there will not be a day of reckoning. Yet someone watches and a solitary figure doles out a different brand of justice. A final judgement will be rendered. The one who serves this function willingly places his life in harm's way. Evading death once more leads him to accept the need for an apprentice. Ryan Matthews wanders aimlessly through life, wondering what the future holds in store for him. Fate places him under the tutelage of a stranger and he becomes the Protege.
