Polina Versus the Dead

Alone and facing an army of zombies, twelve-year-old Polina must find a way to reunite with her parents whom she was separated from months before. Along her journey, she discovers strength and courage she never knew existed.With the trail to find her parents cold, she is determined not to give up until she has found her parents—or at least knows what happened to them. However, as she escapes from the crits she finds she is being pursued by a lone zombie with an inexplicable focus on her. The strange behavior of the crit as it leads a horde in pursuit of her leads her to believe the creatures are developing the ability to think and plan as well as communication skills.Trapped between an army of crits with her back to the ocean she must decide whether to stand and fight or dive into the cold Atlantic waters. Either way, her death is assured.
