Professor Phillip Donamacia, famous art historian specializing in Greek antiquities, womanizer and campus bon-vivant . . . is dead. Poisoned. Blame for his shocking murder quickly fastens upon Constance, a German graduate student and Magnolia Henley's good friend and neighbor. Alarmed at her comrade's plight, the case is more than academic for Magnolia, and quickly entangles her in a web of intrigue involving the disappearance of a number of ancient artifacts from the university museum for which Donamacia served as curator.
