The people of Goode's Crossing – mystics and mediums, some charltans, some not – settled in this quaint old town to ply their trade. But all of them are dabbling dangerously with forces they cannot begin to comprehend until it is too late.

The horror begins quietly enough. A stranger at the door. An unfamiliar hand, reaching. The strange, demonic children smiling, laughing, crouching, hiding. And then the violent storms.

Something evil has come to Goode's Crossing. Something against which there is no defense. Something that descends like a hungry shadow—lurking beneath the wooden porches, whistling through the trees, to claim the children in…THE PLAYGROUND.
