Peppered with Murder

Halloween is drawing near, but Moira Darling has more on her mind than pumpkins, ghosts, and trick-or-treating. After volunteering to run a haunted house for one of her friends, she has enough on her plate even before her daughter hits her with some surprising news. She's still reeling from her daughter's decision when she discovers something that will give her nightmares for weeks to come. A body impaled on a metal spike… a body that vanishes after she rushes inside to call the police. The mystery pulls her away from her more personal concerns as she struggles to figure out what is going on. It may be Halloween, but she knows that the dead don't walk. Something sinister is going on, and she's determined to get to the bottom of it.
