With Jo's Craft Corner becoming better established, owner Jo McAllister is taking the opportunity to expand her own artistic horizons, snagging a weekend spot for her jewelry creations in the prestigious Michicomi Craft Festival. But the surprise appearance of an old rival steals the luster from her wares...

It's bad enough that Jo's jewelry stand at the fair is directly opposite that of conniving Linda Weeks, but then Jo allows Linda to goad her into publicly losing her temper. It gets even worse when Linda drops dead--after eating candy that Jo unwittingly delivered to Linda's booth.

With her reputation in doubt, sales at the Craft Corner start to crumple, and Jo's in danger of seeing her business dissolve into a pulp. But Jo still has friends to help her correct the score, and in their paper-craft classes they discuss not just origami and collage but motives and means.
