Abused and half-starved, an escapee from a travelling circus, the South American jaguar slides through the unfamiliar terrain seeking a meal. Her hunting limited by the growing weight of her belly, she comes upon an easy food source - cattle... Lord Reynold Aitcheson, Earl of Sudcliffe, carries the reputation of being a hunter of big cats. Upon learning of a large wild animal killing cattle in New South Wales, he hires Albert Walsh as his guide and they begin an adventure of unknown length and peril.
